Leaving Asia

Not a reference to one of the only decent Nicholas Cage films – Leaving Las Vegas but we are, in fact, saying goodbye to the noodle and rice lovers as its been over a month now and its time to head to Oz. As much as im going to miss it; the colourful taxis of Bangkok, the haggling and so on, its kind of a relief to be somewhere totally new. Especially somewhere where everyone speaks english! Saying that though - the taxi driver didnt speak very good english; in fact none of them have so far here in Australia!

Ive had a great time in Asia; enjoyed the thai food and the odd insect in Cambodia; cricket, spider and ants in fact! Notice Amy in the photo really enjoying her cricket! Its funny how you dont eat food youre dubious of in the same way as you would anything else; you deliberately take these big exaggerated chews like a baby munching banana for the first time.

I'll definitely miss being the tallest bloke in the room here, and i wasnt gifted in the height department!  It was just the other day i noticed i could see all the tops of everyones heads and was quite pleased with myself. Though when i say tallest bloke, it was a room of just women and when i say 'in the room, we were just in a small lift.

Ill also miss how cheap everything is here and if it isnt cheap you can haggle until it is or atleast til youre blue in the face.
