Fiji and myself didnt get off to a good start. I was running low on funds as it is and with the prospect of going home soon it seemed almost pointless to be here. Whats in FIji anyway?? When we arrived it was dull and raining. Not what id expected. I thought at the very least i could just do nothing for a week and get my tan on. but without a single scrap of sky to be seen through a carpet of grey sky this wasnt looking good! Also, i wasnt feeling the fiji hospitality, the hotel/hostel we stayed at was far from jolly; maybe they were pissed at the rain too.
Also, call me ignorant, but what do Fijian people look like?? Im seeing people who i would mistake for Indian and others id confuse with african. Some women could just be denzel washinton masquerading in a hendrix wig.
But im takin it all back Fiji, i love you. Its been a perfect stay so far! the skys brightened to the point of not seeing a cloud in the sky - a complete turn around!
We've lazed by the pool, lazed by the sea, lazed in the sea and lazed in our room. Its been great not do anything for once. No need to get up early and move on to our next destination or where we will get a shower next.
We're staying at Amunuca Resort which has been amazing; on requesting a booking we were upgraded from the basic studio we wanted to a garden deluxe and then a few days into our stay the manager has upgraded us again to a beach front Bure, so we now look out onto the sea with just a small step onto the beach.
